The 3rd Annual Semper Fi 5K Race/Walk will be held on Saturday June 30, 2012 in Washington, DC. All proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides crucial medical and financial assistance to U.S. servicemen and women wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as to their families.

Why run the Semper Fi 5K? Not only will you be participating in a fun run/walk along a scenic riverside course in Anacostia Park on the 4th of July weekend, you will be helping to make a difference in many lives. Although we would like to think that the government can provide everything for wounded servicemen and women returning from war, the reality is that they need our private help.

Many rely on the Semper Fi Fund in order to have family members nearby while they recuperate in the hospital, as well as to help them get back on their feet financially when they return home. Thus far, the Semper Fi Fund has provided nearly 40,000 grants totaling more than $57 million in assistance for our wounded warriors (CLICK HERE for more details about the Fund’s work).
